There’s no other home decor boutique in Vancouver that does “french-shabby-chic” better than L’Atelier in Gastown.
I spent one afternoon adoring the store and every piece they have on display; It’s nothing like I’ve seen before and it amazes me how many beautiful things a petite-sized shop can stock. It is definitely number one on my list to go as soon as I move into my first apparent.
From reclaimed furniture, most of the pieces are one-of-a-kind and personally upcycled to their perfection by Linda and her husband, owners of the L’Atelier. Linda is warm and very personable; She has cute stories of changing and switching up her mom’s furniture as a child — which showed her talent and passion for home-decor from such an early age (although it did remind me of my catwalking sessions in mom’s stilettos and night gowns as a child. HAHA!).
L’Atelier offers a unique shopping-experience as you likely will never know what you’ll find when you walk in. The couple behind L’Atelier are very passionate about finding lovely things that will make your current living room envious; they are also always on a hunt for next piece to work on, (or as I would say, beautify) and sure to always have new great pieces up on display so if you’re ever around the area, it’s well worth popping by — they are located at 452 W. Cordova Gastown, Vancouver.
