It’s not everyday I get to put on a leather jacket, wrap myself in a cashmere scarf while sporting a converse sneakers, but when I do — I make the most out of it.
Last night I had the chance to see The Head and the Heart live in concert at the fabulous Commodore Ballroom (noted on the photo below) with my friend Nicole. I’m not going to sit here and pretend I’m a big music geek because to be completely honest, I only know of them from the playlists Nicole compiles and sends to me every month — but that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the show because I really did. The venue was great, the band, alongside the opening performers (Curtains for You / Bryan John Appleby) were amazing. It’s no surprise the show was sold out.
Being the total newbie that I am at concerts like these, I carefully prepared and packed my super gigantic DSLR camera + even bigger zoom lens only to be tucked away for coat-check (complete deja-vu of that time I brought my camera to a nude-beach. hey! who would’ve thought?!). Two larger-than-life guards reminded me I couldn’t take them with me to the show, therefore I had to resort to using my iPhone.
All that aside, I had a wonderful time and I look forward to seeing The Head and the Heart perform again live, and by then I’ll be singing along to their songs among their other fans. With that said I leave you with my favorite tunes from them — I can guarantee you’ll be “WOHHHH-HHOOOOOi-ing” after you watch it. Cheers!
