As one of the world’s leading fashion retailers, Zara jumped into the twenty-first century retailing and opened its first full eCommerce functionality in 2010 — but only to 16 European countries. Followed by its American launch in late 2011. And although we, Canadians were slightly disappointed, I knew it’s only a matter of time until they expand their online store in Canada.
So you can only imagine how happy I was when I got an email from them introducing their online store for the first time ever to Canadians. Followed by a super cute parcel with a plexiglass giftcard that reads “Dear Canada, Zara.”
Starting March 6th, 2013, Canadian shoppers can now take advantage of Zara’s sleek online shop, providing seamless online shopping experience. The website is clean, simple and very easy to use. The catalogue is easy to navigate and the process is smooth and fluid. It’s certainly one of the best online shopping experience I’ve had so far.
I went to pick up my parcels at Zara in Metrotown yesterday. And although I could’ve just shipped it to my house, I wanted to visit some old pals, not to mention my internal motive to also do a bit of shopping.
Overall, I’m very happy with my purchases. Two varsity jackets from boys, a cute skinny sweat pants from girls, a straw hat and three pairs of basic socks. I have to say, this makes me excited for Spring and I’m counting the days before I can walk around the city in shorts and linen blazers again.
