ClearlyContacts – Vancouver Launch

- Events, LookBook, Stories

Last month I was featured on ClearlyContactsTheLook project, which highlights internet personalities and their favorite piece of eyewear. The photo of me was taken from the recent New York Fashion Week (you may read the article here).

It was such a coincidence that as soon as I got back to Vancouver from my trip, I got an invite to ClearlyContacts‘ very first offline store located on 1049-51 Robson St. Vancouver. I also got reunited with the lovely Sarah Boland who I met in NYC and who’s responsible for my feature at TheLook. What a small world!

I wore this outfit for the launch party and paired it up with my DIY clear clutch (sans the Derek Cardigan sunglasses of course). And if you’re wondering, that’s an asymmetric wrapped coat I was wearing under, which a lot of people thought might have been a skirt (which could’ve also been a great alternative).

The store was packed, and I usually don’t have trouble navigating a room full of people — with my height, there’s always room just right below people’s chest, but this time it was really packed. The turn out was great and I had a great time. We were trying on frames/glasses after another. There was also photo booth that pique the interest of many guests. It was super nice to see familiar faces, specially after coming back from a 5-week-long adventure.

The selection of brand and style there is in the store is very impressive. They also carry exclusive in-house brands such as Derek Cardigan, LOVE, Michele Lane, Kam Dhillon, LTEDE, JKL, Joseph Marc, Prime Flex, R.HARDY, Perspective, Evergreen, and Zooventure.

As much as I am a big fan of online shopping and all the technology available to us nowadays to make the process seamless, I still love touching the products, feeling it and trying it on in person. Also, the store has friendly and knowledgeable staffs that can answer your questions, assist you and give their best and honest opinions.

It was very hard picking a favorite but this particular frame from Joseph Marc really does it for me. Watch out for it. I’m excited to put together a look with it.
