Vancouver Eco Fashion Week returns on its fourth season and this time, it’s bigger, better, and greener.

Robson Square filled up as the city’s most fashionable crowd gathered Tuesday afternoon to launch the highly anticipated Eco Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012. With Value Village on board this time as one of the official sponsors, stylist Deanna Polkawski, Sarah La Greca, and Myriam Laroche (founder of Vancouver Eco Fashion Week) curated a collection entirely from Value Village and donated clothing.

The show started off with soft color pallets (baby pink, powder blue and mint as seen on runways all over Europe including NYC) — and ended with glitters and embellished outerwear. Sarah and Deanna showed that trendy doesn’t necessarily mean spending loads of money on new clothes, as similar pieces may be found hanging on your closest vintage shop.

Myrian Laroche, on the other hand, did what I call ‘the vibrant 80s.’ Yellow, fuchsia, purple, emerald green and rich blue satisfied my taste for colors and if you missed it, hint hint — scarves were styled to look like tops and dresses, belted with foulard/headscarves.

Three amazing stylists, $500 worth of vintage pieces and donated clothes — What a fantastic way to start off Eco Fashion Week.
