Breakfast at TIFFANY & CO.

Tiffany architects and interior designers utilized elements of the famous Fifth Avenue store, as well as archival patterns to create an elegant environment. The new store’s white marble and Tiffany Blue glass exterior is carved in a fluting motif that replicates the entrance to the Fifth Avenue store; and its stainless steel entry doors are framed with the wheat leaf pattern symbolizing nature, an important theme of Tiffany design that is used throughout the New York City flagship.

The new store’s interior features cerused oak showcases and pearlescent wall coverings, custom furnishings in a palette of blue and silver, and carpeting in a dragonfly pattern inspired by the renowned stained glass works of Art Nouveau designer Louis Comfort Tiffany, son of the company’s founder. The décor is accented with classic black-and-white imagery of New York City, where Tiffany & Co. was founded.

The spacious interior invites visitors to discover a heritage of style established over eight generations. This tradition is radiantly revealed in diamond engagement rings that reflect Tiffany’s reputation as the preeminent diamond authority, and in lustrous sterling silver collections that highlight Tiffany as master of American silver design. In addition, customers may choose from iconic designs such as Atlas®, based on the Atlas clock that graces the entrance of the Fifth Avenue store; Tiffany 1837™, 18 karat gold and sterling silver designs engraved with the company’s founding year; exquisite charms that are lifelong keepers of memories; as well as watches, accessories and gifts.

Also available is the jewellery of Tiffany’s exclusive designers, including the nature-inspired creations of Jean Schlumberger, sculptural designs of Elsa Peretti, and bold jewellery statements of Paloma Picasso. Each has influenced American fashion in important ways, and all are written into history as major contributors to the world of design.

The store opened with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, after which the public was welcomed inside. “We are thrilled to bring the Tiffany shopping experience to Oakridge Centre,” said Canada west group director Rob Ferguson, “and we invite everyone to explore our designs of legendary style that make Tiffany unique among the world’s premier jewelers.”

Tiffany’s new store in Oakridge Centre is the jeweler’s second company-operated store in Vancouver and its fifth in Canada and I was very thrilled to be part of such amazing celebration.
